How it all began
In May 2009 I was eager to compete in my first ever race, it was an Eastern Region race, held at The Gosling Ski Centre.
I was so excited to race and after the three runs down the slalom course I had taken the 3rd place in my age category. I enjoyed it so much that all I wanted to do was train and race. I train for up to 6 hours a week and the races are on dry slopes and indoor snow centres.
I have been racing now for 6 seasons and at the end of last year I won the overall female champion in the Eastern region.
In February 2014 I won Sports Person of the year for my dedication to skiing and was then asked to be Sports Ambassador for Welwyn and Hatfield Borough, to promote Women into sport. I have done a few assemblies at primary schools to inspire young children to take up a sport as my role as an Ambassador.
I have been top 3 in my age group and my most proud moment was when I won overall female champion in the Eastern Region.
I hope that I can keep winning in future years.
